Its getting very close now! The car is going to be borderline ready....
Is it worth running it completley un-tested? Or should i miss the first race?? I wanted to do the first race but im not sure about putting a car on the track that hasnt even been driven on the roads in a number of years? Will it be a bad thing to miss oulton??

Why not test the day before - a good number of drivers will be doing the same - just as they did last year.
You can book your testing online at www.motorsportvision.co.uk if there are any places left.

As usuall most of us are boarderline, my car doesnt have an engine in it yet and the ECU hasnt been built yet !!!
As Howard Says send in the entry, and book the test day the day before. Some of the other teams will be happy to help and give the car the once over on the friday if there is anything your worried about.
Obviously its better to be prepared and have done some testing but then the best of us some times dont get that.
in 2004 when we built the tuscan. It had only ever been driven on and off the trailer before quailfying. We didnt even know if it would change gear as it had never been tried with the car moving !!!!!

Yeah the real thing to worry about are the saftey issues.
will anything fall off i.e wheels !!!
and
will it dump anything on the track i.e oil, water, gearbox!!!
and also if you do stack it will you be safe so
seat and mounts, cage mounts, fire ex and electrical cut out.
everything else is just teething problems, it's be embarrassing and annoying if it stops or goes pop, but if it runs ok early points when everyone is struggling can be vital at th end of the year.
Our second race last year ( gearbox jammed in 4th at the first !!!!) was a nightmare. There was an electrical fault which ment we kept blowing plugs,leads, coils etc and the ecu map kept corrupting.. but we stuck the car out on the track, with Jamies words ringing in my ears. " If it grenades We'll just build another engine so keep going till it stops" So out it went and the finish there made the difference between winning and loosing the series as the end of the year......
There is also the issue that the mallory race is quite close so missing the first round could easily become missing the first 2. So GET IN THE GARAGE
