The Phantom Blower

My Griff has recently developed a mysterious second blower from the dash !? As soon as I turn the ignition on, there is air being pushed through the vents. Then when I press the blower switch, more air comes through?

This one's odd ! - Any ideas ?

You haven't got the cold air fan on as well have you? Dial is under the steering wheel....
