Not usually one to swear, but some low life tried to steal the badges off the car last night, suceeded in snapping the badge at the front, scratching the bonnet, boot and side of the car. They also stole the centre caps off the wheels and scratched all them as well. Still waiting for the police to come to see if they can find any finger prints but don't hold out much hope. Looks like it will be an insurance job for a respray, thats if they pay out this time.

The one detterent that works, thought people start playing with it, still, not a big thing, better than a scratched body and stolen badges or worse...
Is a proximity upgrade for the MT alarm system, a few alarm specialists can wire one in to work in tandem with the existing system. Basically, anyone gets near her, he beeps the horn or something, if it happens 3 times in a row, you can even have it alert you within a 2km distance, or you can pay more and get the GPS/GSM jobbie that sends you a text message telling you whats happening to your pride and joy.
A lot you can do - to keep the average scrote away from her... its the pissheads that just happen to walk past your ride on their way home that wont get detterred by any alarm system, bar a 12gauge buttless!

Where do you live? I thought Brixton was bad,but in all the years ive been there,ive never had any trouble with cars. I'd loved to get my hands on the little tw*t.
Thats the thing I live in a tiny village called Cruden Bay in the NE of Scotland, at the end of cul de sac pretty much the last place you'd expect it. The car was parked on the drive as well. I've since spoken to a neighbour and there is a spate of it going about, he had the badges off his Evo nicked last week and another one the badges off his Audi.
Another thing that is peeing me off is the police, I called them at 9 this morning, chased them up twice since and they've still not shown up, makes you wonder what we pay taxes for. Thing is there is footprints at the side of the car from them and possibly prints on the car as well, but it any of that will still be there in the morning I don't know.
The alarm sounds interesting Ash, I need to have a look into it, when I get it back from the bodyshop.

Or you get two cars nicked off your forecourt overnight over the last month (two separate incidents) and they cant be bovered to sent any one out to even visit you

Well the police came round this afternoon, no prints on the car, had really heavy rain last night so would have been washed off. Actually a really good couple of coppers though, both into there cars and the lady officer drives an Evo so a kindred spirit.
I guess I just need to go and start the battle with the insurance now then regarding fully respraying the car as its faded Rosso Pearl.

ooooh! so sorry to hear it mate,i would just love to catch the little B*****ds i would break thier grubby little fingers
but trying to look at things from a different side it may be a bleesing in disguise if you end up having a lovely new paint job?

Don't be too hard on the Police - they have there hands full sitting around in expensive Mercedes Estate cars, and having to operate complicated Radar devices to catch people in 180 mph supercars exceeding 70mph. And what makes it even harder for them, is trying to focus that Radar Gun while scroats in there chavved out Nova's are weaving about from Lane to Lane at 69.99 mph They've got a tough Job to do guys, show some sympathy!
