Hi guys, having previously owned a 550 Maranello - using it everyday and losing a fortune in depreciation due to the mileage that I cover, I'm thinking about buying a cheap left hooker 348 to use daily, working on the basis that if I cover 100,000 miles in it, it won't really owe me anything and resale value won't be too much of a concern.

I know a lot of people will just say get a newer better Ferrari and use another car for day-to-day stuff, but I reside in Central London most of the time and unfortunately I only have space for one car and Porsches, etc, just don't do it for me.

Just wondered whether anyone else covers big mileage day-to-day in a Ferrari and if so what kind of problems should I be prepared to encounter (never had any problems with the 550). Indeed, is a 348 the right choice or should I be thinking about a different one? Don't really want to spend more that mid-£20k really.

Any help greatly appeciated.

Hi Ray,

if you can increase your budget from mid-twenty's to high-twenty's, why not consider a 456? That way you get to keep the V12 you'v become accustomed to

I've done about 15k miles in 15 months in mine and found it to be pretty damn reliable (for a Ferrari)!

Having said this I have just p/x it for a 355 but that is because I fancied a change and my annual mileage is actually coming down.

You should be able to pick up a manual, '97 or older, with c.35k miles for c.£30k but obviously an older, higher miler for less!

Worth a thought???
