Griff immobiliser

Can anyone help me ? My Griff was just about to come out of winter hibernation but with a dead battery the immobiliser seems to have gone out of sync ? Now charged the car turns over but i dont hear the fuel pump charging up ? I have disconnected the battery to see if it will reset but no joy ? Any ideas anyone please ?

When I disconnect the battery on my Griff, on reconnecting there are a few short "pips", and it seems to go into "armed" mode, and goes off after a few seconds. First time it happened it scared the living daylights out of me, resulting in the head that was down the passenger footwell receiving a nice bump!

All that it take on reconnecting the battery was to press the keyfob (essentially unlocking the car) to disable the immobiliser. It sounds like you cannot disable the immobiliser? Normally, having turned the ignition key to the IGN position, pressing the button on the fob, (or inserting the magnetic key - do you have one of these?), would cause several relays to energise, and the fuel pump to prime.

Sadly my knowledge of alarms and immobilisers ends here - and anyway, a public forum may not be the best place to discuss "workarounds". But hopefully others will be able to help you out - there are some very knowledgeable folk on PH, as I found when I had cooling fan wiring problems a couple of weeks back.

I am sure you will do this having been "once bitten", but get an Accumate or similar charger to use over the winter lay-up - I use once for a couple of days once a fortnight to keep the battery pristine.

Sounds like the immobilisers maybe given up but phone Carl as he'll know for certian.

The immobiliser also controls the starter so I suspect it's more likely to be the fuel pump relays.

The immobiliser has three seperate circuits, starter, fuel and ignition
any one can fail and sometimes all ! Easily tested though.

My alarm behaves are described in answer to this thread i.e. when your reconnect the battery you get a few chirps and then you can disarm it with the keyfob.
