RAINY GOODWOOD

sorry guys that i didnt show.i did get up at 6.00am and gave it some thought about going to meet you lot at the bp services.decided to do a trial run to goodwood in my van.just as i was going home to get the beast out the garage,the heavens opened, and that woz that.i did go back up and missed some of the noblity as they were just driving off.managed to say a quick hi to Martin Bond,(hope you didnt get too much water dripping into your side window.hey, amg merk have you cleaned you car yet ? .hopefully there will be another get together pretty soon.

Not on Corsa's with inches of standing water it isn't! I had a very interesting aquaplane for about 3 seconds on the M1 this afternoon - still, stayed straight as a die and 'landed' perfectly well.

My first time out on Corsas today...bit like a bastard in the dry and wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting in the wet.

All the while the Corsa's can shift the water, and assuming it's reasonably warm, they will be slightly 'better' than other tyres as the compound is so soft it gives good mechanical grip (tyres generate mechanical and chemical grip - chemical tends to dissapear when it's got water in between the tyre and road surface).

As I found out today, once they stop shifting the water though the large surface area of no-tread makes them aquaplane like buggery!

Hmmm, three secopnds is a long time to leave the road Justin! Of course I meant good old SO3s.

It might have been shorter - bloddy scary though. The old heart was going like a good one afterwards.

Not sure why the M1 wasn't draining correctly there, one of the drains must have become blocked or something.

I haven't aquaplaned for many many years. Thank god it was on a dead straight bit of motorway.
