968 sports fully stripped out.. what a difference !!!
Discussion
Well having spent most of the weekend stripping out the interior, seats, carpets etc etc well everything bar the drivers seat I just had to take it for a spin before the roll cage goes in ......
I was thinking well it may make a bit of difference but oh my god!!! It is seriously and very noticeably quicker than before now I know the equation of weight v power and all that but this is a serious difference if anyone is thinking about doing it go for it must be one of the best performance mods by far !!!
All I can think of now is what else can I take off it !!! I think I will pop to the weigh bridge tomorrow for a bit of fun!!!
The only negative is the handling is interesting to say the least as there is no weight in the back at all!!!!

you do still want a bit of weight over the rear wheels though.....
Surely the gearbox does that?
true, but the gearbox weighs somewhat less than the big lump of engine at the front.....
of course replacing the glass screen will save some more weight. But the OP has already noted " The only negative is the handling is interesting to say the least as there is no weight in the back at all!!!!". I therefore wonder just how wise it is to reduce weight over the rear even more?
Probably not, however the main reason it is so bad or fun depending on which way you look at is beceause it is still on its original suspension and settings.
The next stage is race suspension and full set up which should cure it. (just nead to decide on which manufacturer)
I drove a couple of 925's and 944 race cars with plexiglass rear screens last year, they were fine its just about how you set it up really.

Philb,
I am running the JRZ suspension on my 932. She comes in at 930KGs now, and with 300+bhp, she is a little entertaining to asay the least. One important thing is to set the ride height correctly. We have found that having the car almost level works best. It looks weird as the car seems to be dragging it's backside around, but it sets the car up nicely.

Well the car no weighs in at 1197 kilos so still eeds to loose some weight !!
The suspension I was / am looking at is the AST fully ajustable or the KW Race suspension

The Leda remote reservoir setup might also be worth looking at.
One thing to watch out for (if you go KW) is the seating of the strut into the camber plates. I'm on my second set of bearings, as a little play did for the first lot in under 6 months.
