At idle the oil pressure gauge is showing 2. I never noticed it being that low before, is this normal? Whilst under normal driving conditions it's way up at 5. TIA.

thats correct.

I think its high when cold, and between 4 and 5 when driving, but drops down to about 2 when warm and idling.

Perfectly normal. You'll also probably notice it's a little higher at idle when cold and then drops as the oil warms up and thins out. It should get up to about 5 once the engine is over 3.5K RPM which it sounds like it's doing.

Concur with this. I think the handbook says 2.5 when cruising. but I see this range 2-2.5 typically at idle.

FYI depends on what car/engine ( eg 911 SC , 911 3.2 Carrera , 911 964 /993 /996 / 997 ) and what oil and whether its totally warmed up and whether its summer or winter . Anyway 2 bar is not low.....you can get down to 1 bar at idle before you should worry...nb pressure very sensitive to + - 500 revs at idle
