Hello all I've recently bought myself a '92 LSE Range Rover for carting my life around.

I'm delighted with the thing however over the weekend I seem to have buggered the locking / alarm...

The previous owner had completely disconnected the tailgate lock from the locking circuit (there are wires hanging out the back.

I opened the tailgate by hand, the alarm went off, I turned it off using the key Fob.

The upshot is the central locking now doesn't work, the key foc doesn't open the doors and the alarm seems unresponsive.

If I open the drivers door from the inside having gone in throgh the passenger door the immobiliser kicks in and it won't start until I open the drivers door via the lock.

Is there anything I can do or am I going to have to take it to LR garage?

Hedging my bets.....Can anyone recommend a good specialist near Richmond, Surrey?

Hi, The alarm is operated by a micro switch on the rear of the drivers door lock. It sounds like the rear tailgate central locking mech needs setting up properly then resetting with the central locking.
You can do it yourself if you have the patience!

Cheers Roy.

I am shamed to say it but it occured to me that it might be the fuse.

It was the fuse.

15p later and it's fixed.

thanks
