...played HALO or HALO 2. Am I mad?

I'm now thinking about buying an Xbox 360, but I apart from HALO 2, which other games should I really be playing on my Xbox before I ditch it?

Get rid of it and then play Halo and Halo 2 on the 360, they're 2 of the very few games that actually look better on the new system as it upscales it properly to 720p and will look a lot prettier.

Yup, not much left on the old Xbox to play, except perhaps Half Life 2 which is pretty good.

Get a 360 as soon as.
After being out for a year, plenty of games to choose from................. from launch game Perfect Dark Zero (mostly slated but I like it) and PGR3 to newer games like Gears of War (everyone thinks its the best - I dont), Rainbow 6, Lost Planet, and soon Forza 2.

o.k. - looks like I'm getting a 360 this weekend then! Which games will blow me away? I like FPS's like Halo and also Splinter cell/Chronicles of Riddick -type stuff, and car racing.

Gears of War sounds about perfect for you then. Provided you've not played the latest splinter cell on the original xbox the 360 version is well worth a look. As for racing games the current top dog is still gonna be PGR3, although Forza 2 should be out reasonably soon.

Other shooters you might want to look at would be:

Rainbow Six: Vegas
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Sequel to this is out on Friday too)
Bioshock (out soon but worth keeping an eye on)

Shop around a bit first as you should be able to get a Premium system with a game for about £280 these days and some shops may have better deals than others.
