Let's just say, hypothetically that I wanted my company name on a GT2 car at LM this year. Nothing elaborate just on the wing mirrors or spoiler end plate or small wording behind front wheel arch for example. How much do you think it would cost, just for Le Mans, not the whole season?

And do you think I would gain much in the way of corporate hospitality/pit lane admissions?

Probably a world first for a taxi firm to sponsor a race car.

About two or three years ago we shared a few drinks with some Dutch lads who were (part) sponsoring the Zonda that year they were talking about €20,000 for a small sticker say 30x10cm

Ages ago there was a programme on telly where either Lambrini or Lambrusco (yes those fabulous drinks) sponsored the wing mirrors on Eddie Irvines Ferrari (he was no.2 driver). As I recall they had a small green sticker on each mirror and the deal was either £1 million or $1 million for the year. 111KAB

I guess it depends on the team and their budget.

If you factor in that a Paddock Pass costs over £300 and the team will be bearing the cost of the hospitality for its sponsors, your first £1500 is probably just covering costs by going down that route.

The best thing to do is decide on your budget, what you want for your money and approach some teams - remember that not all teams are guaranteed to make the race so bear that in mind when you select the teams you want to partner with.

When all is said and done it is a great thing for a Le mans fan to do and easier than you think to acheive. My jottings on a season sponsoring Creation Autosportif im LMP1 is here - www.speedchills.com/creationsport2006.htm

GT2 pha!

You can get your name on an LMP1 car for £70.

www.janlammers.com/shop/orderform.asp

(OK, so you are looking at £1,700 to get a good-sized logo and £3,400 for one you can see without looking. Everything is Dutch-only at the moment but when they had everything in English too a couple of years back I think the E5,000 got you a jacket and invites to meet/watch them at some events. Drop them a line and I'm sure they would be happy to take money off of you.)

Rich I have a far better and more cost-effective solution. Get Owen and I a bottle of 12 yr old Macallan and a couple of Monte Cristos each then we will put a couple of Parkway Taxi stickers on our cars.

We'll make sure you get some publicity!

....half a case of warm french p1ss should seal it! That is unless you ment putting an actual pizza down the side of the car.....now that would depend on if it had been previously digested or not as my copilot has that covered already laugh

If my memory serves me right, it's easier to get Owen to part with money if he drinks Absinthe. hehe
