speed sensor

Just in process of ordering a speed sensor for my car but it is possible to dissconnect it some how from the speedo at it is 226 mph almost all the time and I am adding lots of miles to my car.

There's a 3 pin multi-plug in the space under the petrol tank lever, you can disconnect it there.

Had a look under the lever and cant see anything, anybody else got any ideas ?

It's hidden behind the panel that is to the rear or the pertol leaver.

Is this the panel that gives you access to the rear light bulbs ?
