factors to consider on high milages rover v8's
Discussion
Not being a major techie person I can't concisely tell you what to watch out for, but have a look at www.v8engines.com as they have a good section on the Rover V8, although more geared up to Landy's most of the info is still applicable.
Hope this helps,

my griff has over 87000 miles now. not yet had a cam change and runs like a dream. as for the oil pressure thet run at around 20psi at idle and upto 40-50 full throttle. good luck with yor hunt.have owned 3 previous tvrs with lesser milage and have had more problems so dont worry to much. just check the service intervals and should be ok.
Look inside the filler cap for crud deposits. That will indicate if it's been looked after or not. A lot of rovers run or seem to run very low oil pressure at idle especially if hot but I think that the volume is more important. If the oil's been changed frequently you shouldn't have any major worries.
