Hi all, HAVE JUST LEFT THE GENERAL GASSING chat page with a long mailie for help....but basically.
After owning a bland GT'6, a MG, am now looking at either a tr6.....$8 to $10k OR ......A TVR.
Saw an ad for one in
www.wirewheels.com
the 280i and the 350i
I know nothing of TVR's....are they cool..reliable..reasonably priced....etc etc
HELP.....

Sorry if I am being a bit thick, but I can't find the cars on the link you sent.

I have owned both a 280i and a 350i. I thought the 280i V6 was great, but it just doesn't touch the 350i V8. The only benefit of the V6 is that it may be more reliable - but who cares when the V8 sound this good!

See my post on the "wedges" section. The two wedges to which you refer are both V6 models, not a 280i and a 350i. The red one does have the 350i spoiler and
15" wheels but is the V6 model.

both look really tastey
choice of which colour really

the 280 is easy to live with
Ive got a 2+2 and bills are fortunately not too often -parts are fair to source and the grin factor is great

In the USA you must get looks driving one of these?

yes it does, its the one for sale at the vero beach place.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting.
What was even more interesting was the prices being asked in the classifieds....... makes Marshalls at 8k pounds, very expensive..... I may want to negotiate but its nearly 50% more than other prices for the same cars...

Very true Gem , me old son....very true.
The prices for TVR's here in good ol USA seem about 25% higher, than in Blighty

True, there is a variance in prices here vs. those across the pond, but you also have to keep in mind that there are significantly more examples to choose from over there than there are here and prices for older TVRs over there of most models tend to be a good bit lower than for the same models over here.

Also don't forget these were not inexpensive cars to start with in the U.S. Most of these cars in the states have always been second or third cars very few were used as daily year round transport .As for the asking prices, there cheaper ones out there all you can do is shop and compare and arrive at your own conclusion. The original list price of my 3000s in 1979 was $17.000. If you look back it was an expensive car in its day.

I have seen the red Tasmin listed on the wire wheel site and it is a beautiful car, owned by a longtime TVRCC memeber and now President of the club in the US.
Owner has complete records, to include window sticker from new. You would be very hard pressed to find a nicer, better cared for car then this one!
