Thinking of buying a chim - car no 5/6 so not everyday but would like to use it 2-3 days a week and the odd longer trip.

What do I need to consider - what do you recommend etc?

As usual as little as poss for a runner. Age is irrelvant - perhaps you could give me an idea of prices vs condition - would be interesting to see if they matched my research. Can afford well into 5 figs if needed. can do work if needed

many thanks

A copy of the bible (the TVR Griffith and Chimaera, 2nd Ed, By Steve Heath) would be a good investment - £30.50 delivered from Amazon

www.amazon.co.uk/TVR-Griffith-Chimaera-Steve-Heath/dp/0953033554/ref=pd_ka_4/202-2512807-0272601?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1173138781&sr=8-4

So you know exactly what to look for, and can take it along when you're checking them over if you think anything looks iffy. Plus plenty of info on common issues to look for and general information.

Oh not very nice , I usually get accused of waffling on. This is about a good as it gets.
I would say by the look of the engine bay and lack of any pitting e.t.c the chassis will be the same .

Is it just me or do the prices seem cheap on autotrader , is piston classifieds hiking prices, well there 1k difference with this one for a start.

Or you can have mine which is older not the cheapest at that age but it good , if you want spend that hind if money it would cut down in wasted journeys. www.pistonheads.com/sales/138932.htm

So you've done your thinking, beware, if you go on the test drive that will be the end of it... you'll be getting the cheque book out!

Enjoy, it's such fun!

As mrbongo said keep focused when buying don't get carried away by the theatre of it all, it is good to look at a few to get a feel for it ,unless you stumble on to a minter . Try and arrange to get it on a ramp at a local garage before you hand over the cash.

I do suspect will drive and love. I really think I need something to fill the gap between sensible family car and all out tuned nut house and the e-type - both of which are no go with baby and bad weather.
(secretly I have always wanted a fast car.........)
