Light Conversions...........where and how much?

Folks,

Iv found a Cerbie i really like, and to be honest can only find one flaw with it......it doesnt have the Front Light Conversion (the owner will know whoz car im talking about if he reads this!! )

The rear one im not so bothered about, as iv seen the parts for £250 to get that done so thats not a problem.

However, a mate said the front conversion is a very pricey job.

Can anyone tell me where i can get it done? How much will it cost?

I'm also looking to do the same thing but it's not cheap! There seems to be two options available, either the bolt in ones (like an 02 on LW) or the faired in ones. You also should think about going HID at the same time. I have rang around and £1100 seems about right for the faired in jobbies as a front-end respray is required. I like the idea of the LW look one as it's removeable but i'm having trouble finding anyone who can supply the pods....

Yep, just about the wrong side of £1000 as I recall. I went for the fully blended version with no extra mini light/indicator. All a matter of choice though.

Mine was £1200 when I had it done, again fully faired in, no extra little light thingy and including spraying full front end and both doors - oh and £10 for the clear indicator lenses off the 130 land rover!

Good keep it original do not touch those lights.

IMHO updating a car to make it look more modern when it was a stylish beastie off the drawing board anyway is somehow wrong. The front of the original Cerbera is a classic design. Don't get me wrong I like the new ones too but conversions of front and rear lights are a tad 'max power' for me.

Fibreon - do the lightweight pods - about 70 unpainted I think.

Make sure it is done well.

Whoever did the job on my car for the previous owner did an absolute balls of a job on it.

They fitted the lights at a slant and hed the heads and dims wired up the wrong way around.

Check the quailty of the job before you hand over your cash.

As for the back lights ......... Fiesta.

There was another topic mentioned that the light 'upgrades' weren't as good in the dark as the originals.

If the Cerbs have the same headlamps as the Chim then I seriously doubt that! I had the "normal" bulbs in my Chim conversion and it was a 100% improvement over the originals; Xenons are an option, gawd only knows how bright they'd be!

see i dont know! i think the Chim looks better with the original lights but i think the Cerb shoulda been made like the Tuscan front end
