... should it say V6 Tamora start up when firing up a T350?

I'm guessing it's standard but just thought i'd ask!

Thanks, Bradders

Yes.

Earlier versions of the T350 have this on the display at start-up. I'm not sure when it changed, but it did so at some point to show the correct designation.

Not easy to rectify (I think impossible now!). I was told by a dealer that the display unit would need to be sent back to the factory to update.

V6 is Version 6.

I thought it was confused about the engine layout. rolleyes

This whole software issue must be fixable.

I have done a little looking into this, although not nearly enough... Basically, if someone can get hold of the code, I can look at re-programming options. I'm sure its embedded C code. I'm also sure this could be re-loaded with an update (either by replacement or update).

What i'm really interested in doing in actual fact is improving the firmware, maybe adding a few new screens to scroll through, as well as improving the error reporting. Seems to me that we've got this great versitile matrix display that isn't really doing much...

I think DJC on here would probably have this cracked in no time (by the sounds of it). However, quite happy to lend some of my own time if anyone else wants to have a go though...

Just food for thought...

Rich...

By the way... Not looking to make any money on this for either working on anything or the upgrade itself. Purely just want to get my hands on it and see what I can do really...

...while you're at it, please can you fix the really stupid mistakes eg wrong conversion factor from mph to kph, and the fact the digital readout is never quite the same as the analogue dial display (both speed and revs)

:-)

Cheers
