Cerb Emergency Accessories

I hope never to need this, but yer never know.

Now considering a small fire extinguisher too. Any recomendations?

So where do you put it? To be worthwhile you'd have to secure it within reach in case of an accident I guess.

just make sure you do a big enough crash to break the windscreen, then you can crawl out

on second thought, just don't crash and you'll never have to worry

I have a life hammer pinned to the transmission tunnel just below the gear stick. Doesn't impinge on me in any way when driving (and I'm not small) - hopefully I'll spend most of my time being laughed at for having it rather than ever having to use it...

I actually put a Stanley knife in the door pocket of the Cerb and had it there for a good while (I must put it back in actually).

The seatbelts are a pig to release with nothing wrong with the car and I reckoned they'd be impossible to open after an accident.

That thing looks like a better idea than just a knife alone.

I have a small Halfords extinguisher in my boot in with the tyre repair foam.
I thought it would be best in there as the last thing I would want to do is fiddle about with an extinguisher whilst inside the Cerb if it was on fire!

Without wanting to get too "preachy" but you need to be really careful carrying a knife in the car. I have a friend in the Met advised me on the exact same, saying they take knives (and yes, that qualifies) in cars as seriously as they do firearms.

Just on the off chance you get stop-and-searched, they are liable to throw the book at you on that one nowadays; yes, common sense aside.

Given that the only quick way into the boot requires the electrics to be up and running, I think one in the passenger compartment is better. I have mine mounted on the floor behind the drivers seat, as far back as possible towards the rear seat. It can be reached easily from oustide through the open door.

Asv we're on the subject, and I'm sure most of you know, but if you ever do find yourself having come to an inverted stop, please take care how you release the seat belt, as landing quickly on your neck can induce more injuries than were sustained in the original incident !
