More damage from crap road surfaces
Discussion
So last night I was driving home along Knightsbridge behind a bus,
Because of the bus and the fact it was dark I went into some bloody great pothole which I hadn’t seen
Although to make matter worse I didn’t go straight into it the hole but instead caught the edge of the wheel (not only damaging the wheel but also the tyre)
So basically because of TFL (or K&C council) I’m now facing a massive bill to fix my wheel and also replace the tyres
Just because I feel like having an argument with someone, is there any way I can try and claim this money of Ken Livingstone?
What’s so annoying is that one of the other Lambo wheels got damaged a few weeks back because of another hole on a London road

Sorry to hear your news, I'd been told that if a Council is aware of the damage ie it has been reoprted to them and they do not repair it within 28 days to an acceptable standard then you may well have a case to claim, of course how you find out if anybodies reported it to them is unclear!

Good luck with the claim though. I went through the same 2 years ago with the Evo-totally blew my tire and fuked a wheel as the pot-hole I hit was massive. Went back later on (1hr later after getting a camera) and the hole had been covered over already!!! Tarmac was still fresh
. Wrote to the Council, who said no its TFL. Wrote to them and they said it wasn't them either as it was the Highways Commission. In the end, I gave up-my time spent on pursing the claim was costing me more than my daily rate. Hate giving in, but it was just a typical example of such a crap city we now live in with Red Ken pulling the shots

The law basically states that if they inspect road surfaces when they are supposed to then they have no liability in such cases. They will just refer you to the statute and the record of when the inspection was done but by all means give it a go.
IIRC correctly they have to inspect the roads every 12 weeks
when I had a bent alloy and burst tyre as a result of a pothole I called the Wesminister City Council and found out that it was week 11
WCC then thanked me for notifying them and inspected that road 1 week earlier to avoid liability
