Looking to try out a couple of idea's......

OK I don't seriously expect anyone to rock up and lend me a full rig hehe(!), but I wonder if anyone has a suction pad & clamp that I could borrow on Wednesday or Thursday? In return I'd be happy to supply some beer tokens & some passenger time in a 430!

I'm in either London or Essex!

I would have helped but I'm a bit far away in Sheffield.

Unless you want to bring them up here

dare i admit that i've used some of the sucker pads that glaziers use and plenty of gaffer tape with my tripod?

also have a cheap camera mount that got from maplins, £8, i used on a v8 vantage (wonder where that was from? ) and got some good results. depends what you're aiming for?

These look good. Not cheap but purpose built.

There's a chepa version in maplin which looks flimsy and would require modification.

Or these look ideal too...

That's the mount that i've got and used for my above shots. held the 30d ok. wasn't brave enough to let it go though. you can borrow mine if you want to try it out.

RS or farnell sell suction pads which are pretty good. We use them at work to hold steering wheel systems (like the logitech game wheels but bigger!) down the the desk. 3 of them will hold ca. 7kgs on a vertical piece of glass quite happily. Tend to lose hold after a couple of hours though.
