Because I am an idiot.
Spent about 10 minutes last night pulling the red lever under the dash and not getting the bonnet to open. 12 hours later, I just remembered that it's not that lever.

Doh - is that the one for the door by any chance?
Bingo.

- your not the only one...But I bet I am the only one who has owned the car for 4 months and checked the oil every week, then decides to forget how to open the bonnet. Sometimes I amaze myself at how easily my brain ceases to function. My bank is also as amazed as they practically have an automated service that sends me a new PIN number each week

Hmm, not found that one - I will go looking later !
I had owned my Chimaera for five years when a flat battery caused me to investigate the footwells; I found a new air vent. I had already found the 'turn off the dash lights' button. With my knee. And asked the dealership to fix the fuse. I felt a little daft when they explained.
You may now call me 'retard'
