As per title does anyone have a map of Portugal on their tom tom ? I am going there in July & renting a car to drive to a villa etc. & want to know if a map of Portugal even exists (I have the basics on my great Britain plus map only & this does not recognise the place we are going)

Thanks
H

I have the whole of Europe map, and it seems to have Portugal. What is the name of the place you want to get to?

Place is called Praia da Gale & I will be travelling from Faro airport (which isn't on my GB plus map)

Thanks
Howard.

It's on the GO 910's pre installed database. I use my tomtom in Portugal often and the maps are perhaps not quite as good as the U.K. with a few more unnamed streets.

The town of Gale is just west of Albufeira about 40 mins from Faro Airport. Is that where Prai da gale is? "gale" just means beach.

Faro Airport is on my TomTom ONE Europe, but not Praia da Gale. Same with AutoRoute 2004.

CD (Take 2) is in the Post, has major roads of Europe on so that may be of some use to you.

Should work this time!

I can't find Praia da Gale on my TomTom One Europe (with detailed maps), but I know the Algarve pretty well and Praia da Gale is a very long beach (Praia = Beach) between Albufeira and Armacao de Pera. The nearest village is Pera to the north west of the middle of the beach and the long and lat of the middle of the beach are N37.08022, W8.31035. You should at least be able to define the destination when you get the maps from Chris.

Have a great time out there - it's a really nice part of the world and the locals are friendly.

As I said before, the nearest town to praia de gale on the tomtom europe map is the town of gale, just west of Albufeira.

Thanks Chris for sending the disc but unfortunately my Tom Tom does not recognise the maps? Mine is a Tom Tom Navigator 5 on a PDA I'm not sure if that makes a difference but if anyone can help with a map of portugal that will suit i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
Howard.
