Just incase anyone is interested in getting a cheap private plate - I've just bought a good cheap CERB plate from newreg, came in at just over 500quid all in and on the car. It's basically C3RB then a letter. i've got no affilliation with them I just think its a good deal and far less than I expected! And there are several left...

damn - typical! too late to get out of it now as the orders been placed and my card has been charged. Oh well its only money I suppose

I would check it out before giving up, as I understand it, distance selling regs mean you have 7 (thought it was 14 but appears not) days cooling off period and not sure they can absolve themselves of this, if you are still within that period then it's worth a shot. I nearly didn't post my original reply on the other thread, nothing worse than being told you just overpaid, but then realised it might get you out of it.
