I think Corsas would explode if you put them on a Veyron. IIRC they have specially manufactured Michelin tyres to handle the power and speed that the car is capable of.

It was only a matter of time before someone crashed one, lets hope that the "all fast cars are evil" brigade doesn't use it as ammunition.

slight tongue in cheek about the Corsas bit but you're right about it being used as possible ammunition...

If it was a 100mph smash then the car has survived remarkably well

if the guy was speeding a in a 40 zone - he deserves to have the book thrown at him

there is a time and place for a turn of speed - a 40 zone is not one of them

Apparently, a new set of tyres for the Veyron cost £17,000 yikes

Plus the travel cost to France as your local KwikFit won't have a big enough machine!

A sore point! Many of my favorite local B roads (Iver, Denham, Stoke Poges) have recently been reduced to 40 from NSL mad

well - i guess what i'm saying is if its a built up area (most 40 zones are)

then its best to keep your foot off the loud pedal

but i have to admit i did get rather enthusiastic on a 40 zone myself today ¦

It would appear the press reports are somewhat wide of the mark.
