AFM for 2001 Mk1 GT3 needed
Discussion
My car's been getting some work done on it but needs a new AFM. It seems everyone's run out of them at the moment so i'm delayed in getting it back.
It's just been on a dyno with a borrowed AFM on it and has had the flat spot sorted out, and made 400bhp and 320ft lbs.
As you can imagine i'm keen to get it back and start driving it so any help in getting an AFM would be much apreciated!
Thanks,
Chris

What is an AFM?? Is this a MAF sensor on the air intake?? If so, I think eurocarparts www.eurocarparts.co.uk sell them, they are a standard Bosch part.

Yes - same thing i reckon. I had a look on Eurocarparts but when you click on Air Flow Meter for GT3 it says no parts found

On the unit you are replacing there will be a Bosch part number. There's only about 30 or so different MAF units ever made, which cover's every type of car you can imagine and they are all by Bosch.
Then just find a Bosch parts dealer, and give him the reference number. It'll be significantly cheaper than from Porsche too.

Car had a good run down to Yorkshire and back yesterday - on the motorway sections it's the usual self restraint required - off the motorways it's awesome!
I think the best thing is the increased drivability lower down the rev range. You don't have to cane it round to 5k+ to make rapid progress now as it feels much more muscular from 2k upwards. Of course, when you do use the full rev range it's fabulous.
I was coming up the A1 last night stuck behind 2 lorries overtaking each other. By the time they'd moved out the way there was some numpty crawling all over my rear bumper (not sure what he was trying to achieve but obviously had grand ideas about his Audi). 3rd gear duly selected, and several seconds of rapid acceleration later, his lights were but a spec in the distance and I was grinning like a fool. Of course it always could leave other cars behind, but it definitely feels more authoritative now...
