SCIENTIFIC DOCUMENTARY: The Great Global Warming Swindle
On: Channel 4 (104)
Date: Thursday 8th March 2007 (starting in 1 day)
Time: 21:00 to 22:35 (1 hour and 35 minutes long)
Misfiring speed guns
On: ITV
Friday 9th March at 8.00 pm
Tonight with Trevor Mcdonald
All about the LTI 20 20, the well used speed gun in britain that has been proved to record speeds higher than the car was really going.
N.B The speed guns one will only be shown if it's still a slow news week. They have been resheduling it for the last 2 weeks in favour of more topical news. Hopefully they will actually screen it this time.

Must admit I am interested in what this programme is going to say.
The problem with ecomentalists is that their view of the world is myopic, and stops only at those things they want it to (like cars for instance).
They seem happy to point out that emissions from this, and pollution from that, is apparently destroying our world (My view is that the world will carry on spinning around the sun long after we are gone, untill the sun which gives it life now, goes super nova and steadily destroys it and the planets in its system)But seem not to notice that emission from human sources, comes from..... humans!
Why do we cut down large areas of forest to make grazing land for cattle? Why do we deplete fish stocks in the sea to extinction point? why do we have factories producing various emissions as well as goods? Why do we flood huge areas (which subsequently produce methane from rotting vegetation)to generate hydro electricity? Why do we cut down huge tracts of rain forest to grow palm oil plantations? Why do we destroy the habitats and therefore the species themselves to make more living space for humans. Why, when we realise that the Earths resources are finite do we continually and rapidly increase the numbers (9.6 billion by 2050) of those who must draw on that resource?
The simple answer, is to allow us to turn out even more humans. For those who want kids, I say have them, as many as you want. It is your right as a human being, but please dont try to think you are helping the planet, if you then put up a wind turbine/recycle your cabbage peelings/walk the kids to school etc, because all you may be doing is assuaging a sense of environmental guilt.
I do not see that growing even greater future population levels (many who may have to live in abject squalor) as a good reason for curtailing the way people live their lives now. But do believe that ALL who actually arrive on the planet have a right to, and should have a decent standard of living regardless of who or where they are. If anyone wants to see the root cause of our contribution to global warming (wether this is actually true or not)all they have to do is look into the nearest mirror... I just did.

Excellent programme, destroyed all the green lies...the new motto must be
If you're green you're killing blacks (i.e developing countries)!! No racial slur intended!
Where can we get a copy?(any help greatly appreciated as I forgot to put on the tape!) to give out to all the greenslime eco-terrorists and numpties who believe their lies???

So every time the ecomentalists bleat about those who question AGW being funded by big oil etc, We now know that the proponents of AGW are funded by their own self interested parties. The government making money out of environmental taxes???? Naah. they would never do that!..............would they? It just surprised me that Mrs T was said to have started the eco b*llox ball rolling in this country as a way of smoothing the way for Nuclear power. Like it or not, nuclear power may be the only short term fix for energy needs available to us at the moment. Note I did not mention dealing with its waste products though. A thought provoking programme, which shows that the idiots like those who vilified Gallileo for saying the Earth was a sphere and not flat (and nearly burned him at the stake for saying it) are still around, and are called environmentalists!

Agreed!!
That prog should be repeated every Monday for the next year! It would need to be to counteract the constant daily lies we get force fed on the news and other TV. I thought the bit about Mrs T starting the ball rolling was interesting. I bet she must be turning in her political grave to know that it's now being used to further socialst policies in Britain by those that stood on the fringes of the political scene while she was in power.
I still believe that over population is going to be that `thing' that gets us in the end, But often wondered why, when we are continually being presented with images of dry burnt out landscapes (Apparently caused by human induced global warming dont ya know!)we dont utilise these areas for solar power generation. They are obviously hot enough, because the heat kills just about every living thing in them, and anything that survives there now, could continue to do so around solar power installations. The area is not much good for anything else. We all know that most of the suns heat falls on this region, and heat energy moves north and south from in water and air convection currents.
Those countries which are often the poorest could with the aid of developed world technologies give these areas over to solar power generation which they could sell, much as the the oil rich countries do today. The only point is that we must reduce using the energy stream to simply grow populations still further, because then we would end up in the same old boat!.... just a thought.

As the late, great Bill Hicks once said;
"Humans....too many of you. Stop rutting for just a day, try and work out this food/air deal,"
"Trailer Parks and Council Flats all over the world, little miracles just popping out. If only I could remember your daddys name. I think I'll call you Pizza Delivery boy junior,"
I really don't like kids and I don't see why it is the summit of human achivement to have one. Anyone can do it and with some parents telling their daughters to get pregnant "cos if you do the council will give you a flat and you'll never have to work" its uniqueness is getting some what diminished.
Sorry rant over..
Where were we, oh yeah cars.....

It's simply a matter of cost. If we were denied access to cheap fossil fuels, as we will be one day anyway, if we survive that long, then we could easily produce electricity by other means. It would just be a bit more expensive. We just need a worldwide agreement to ramp up the price of fossil fuels. Something similar to the worldwide agreement not to tax aircraft fuel, only in reverse.
peter pan said:
what we also need is a world wide agreement to limit population growth, because that is where any pollution we do produce originally comes from. more humans = more pollution.
So you're first in the queue to have your knackers chopped off!!
I've got some nice sharp scissors somewhere....
.....or maybe my Sweeny Todd will do the job.
