Front Indicators - changing bulbs?

Hi,

I need to put a new bulb in the front offside indicator - which is a new experience as I've never had one go before! Am I right in thinking the 'easiest' way to access the bulb unit is by removing the front number plate and then the grille (mine's a '94 so it's the old style)? If that's the case, anybody got any tips for getting the grille in and out of the rubber seal without damaging anything?

Yeap, thats the right way, the grill gets easier the more you do it, I use a little silicon grease and an old flat bladed butter knife.
Start at the top centre working the grill out, once you get one end free it can be pulled out sideways, it's a lot harder to get back in, but as Haynes would say 'it's the reverse of removal'
