I'm very impress with the Yoko Paradas I have on mine, but if he's not going for a full set of boot then perhaps sticking with the same as he's got might be best, as for what is a very rear-steerable FWDer I'd like to ensure the same level of progression on all four corners.

I think the Cup has larger tyres than the normal 172s, I certainly know that the Renault manual doesn't cover the tyre size I have on mine although I have standard Cup wheels. I'm not a fan of the SO3 GSDs having run them for 2 years on my Cerbera, they are indeed fantastic in the wet, but they aren't progressive and tactile in the dry, so aren't ideal for track days or serious to the limits hooning IMO.

Hmmm, not noticed that, mind you the last few times I've spoken to them they closed the garages I'd used with them in the past. It might have something to do with MyTyres "sponsoring" the Tyre Finder service though...
I have Michelin PE2's all round on mine. Supposed to give better wet performance than the OE Conti's. I decided to keep the same width rather than fitting 205's (as on 182's) as I thought it may increase tramlining. Can't really give a review as the fronts were only fitted a fortnight ago - they are much better than bald Conti's at least!!
Tripps - 172 Cups have the same size wheel as all ph2 172's (post facelift) btw. Thought they were fitted with the same tyres too. No idea why Renault don't stock them, don't think they had any tyre the correct size when mine failed the MOT (had to order them in specially)

I think my tyres are 205/40s, can't recall for sure though, so it sounds like the previous owner decided to upgrade to the 182 size. I'd wondered where he's come up with the size from, sounds like he either specifcally chose the 182 size or perhaps it happened by accident. Tramlining is slightly noticable on them, but nowhere near as bad as the torque-steer so I've never really bother about it, epsecially since grip and progression are so good.

Very weird, did someone just work out the rolling radius and say which wider tyres could be used on the rim, mentioned it on cliosport and everyone followed? BTW Just checked and I've got 205/40R16 tyres rated 83V.
