Rear Clam Alarm Switch
Discussion
If your alarm doesn’t go off when opening the rear clam with the alarm armed, it is probably a corroded alarm switch. The switches are in an exposed position and prone to oxidise which prevents a connection occurring when the clam is opened.
Top Tip - Rather than fiddle about trying to remove the oxidisation with files and emery boards (like me), splash out and get a new one from the factory for £1.54

can you fit one to the front clam too and wire it off the rear?
Easy peasy.
just got the problem of routing your wires
I think the wiring starts near the front. If so, it would obviously make life easier. You just need to find out which ones are the rear clam switch cables. I have a wiring diagram for the alarm if that would help - I'll try and dig it out.
You will also need the alarm switch mounting bracket.
