05 MY MR2 Tyres?

What are the correct tyres for an MY 05 MR2 Roadster?

Are they Bridgestone Potenza RE040s?

I think you're right (although we don't get too involved in stock tyres because most of our work is with upgrade wheels/ tyres). Front is 185/55 15, rear 215/45 16. Yokohama and Bridgestone have been used and work well because they have very stiff side walls so they tend not to be as "squooshy" as say a Toyo (a very popular replacement). I wouldn't get too hung up about keeping exactly to the OE spec but it is certainly recommended to keep to the same tread pattern all round. Hope this helps.
