Fraid not - it's Fibre Glass under the mohair - the Carbon Fibre is just for show on the inside.

Hi Jonka, not seen one without cloth on,but i would think it would be a nightmare to get back to carbon weave without scratching it to hell. Its only a clear cellulose finish,so i suppose any marks could be polished out.Good luck if you decide to take it on,would look good.
Noticed we share the same tastes in cars, mines the same colour, also had Intergrale(red) in the construction business, and in Essex.
Looking to upgrade wheels soon, like the look of yours, care to share make?

The carbon is a think cosmetic layer on the inside only. Try rubbing back to that from the top and you'll end up with a lot of fibreglass dust and an expensive carbon fibre rag!

I actually asked th same question at the factory when mine was being built - I wanted the carbon fibre look on the top. No deal.

Take a look and andy-w's pic in his profile for an idea of what a painted one can look like - smart. A lot of work though filling and smoothing before the paint goes on.

As previously mentioned the carbon fibre is just a layer on the inside...

If you strip off the old mohair I can't imagine there's a reason why carbon fibre could not be laid instead, if you could find someone to do it for you professionally. Though I imagine it'd cost a lot to have it done and not really a DIY job.

Contact these,F.Hot Custom Boards in colchester area i believe. They make glass windsurf boards.Shouldnt think it would be any problem for them to laminate roof on these cars.
I wouldnt mention its for a TVR though.£££££ ,tell them you want x metrs of carbon put on a moulded fibreglass panel.(prepared).Cant see it costing too much either.
I raced carbon covered boards many years ago, they looked great.

Have a search on net/yellow pages etc. for soft top repair/refurbishment to see if there are any companies local to you. From memory the targa panel re-cover costs ~£250 + VAT and complete roof re-cover is around the £400-£500 mark, although it's worth doing a search here on PH's as I'm sure I read once that someone had re-covered the whole roof for just over £300 ?!?!

Or if it's just the targa panel you could save £200 and do it yourself over a weekend...

Hope this helps

A Peice of carbon fibre to cover that is going to cost a fair whack...but it would be possible....i am thinking of that mould but then my roof is already smooth so i could make a mould of my roof which will already have a smooth finish making a carbon fibre layup nice and easy.....hmmmmmmmmm
