Picked up my new CBR600F today!
Discussion
I collected the new Honda today and took it for a 30 mile gentle run. Just my luck as it started to rain but even with non-scrubbed in tyres and greasy roads the bike was very sure footed.
The suspensions a little firmer than the one I test rode (an 06 with 3k miles) but what a bike!!!!
Apologies for the bad camera phone image - not my usual type of shot but I've been too busy riding the bike to take proper pics!!
The Arai RX7 lid is amazing - very comfortable. Got a set of Dianese winter gloves - dri-fit titanium or something, but they are very warm, just need a little wearing in.
Anyway, as a new rider this is a dream come true - what surprised me is that every bike rider nods as you pass - never noticed that before! Thanks for all the help and advice recently, I'll be back for more soon

Corr, that looks good mate: great to hear you're feeling comfortable on it, even in the current piss poor weather. Oh aye, it's all my fault: it's rained solidly over this side ever since I got new tyres fitted on Monday.
Now, there's this cracking road down the side of Loch Earn, just the place to wear down chicken strips, apparently.....

It's not going above 6000 rpm for a good while
Jolly good - nothing really happens till about 7
Seriously though when running it in, take it up through the revs in a low gear every once in a while then change up rapidly to get them back down. As you get closer to the 600 mile service take the revs progressively higher. Vary the throttle position and engine speed as you ride - (ie don't try to do all the running in on a motorway at 70) and don't labour the engine.
Probably teaching you to suck eggs here but your engine will thank you for the above in the long run.
