Just been badly underpaid so had to cut back on a few things this month. So just cancelled my PS3 preorder. Not too bothered as the killer titles for me were Ratchet & Clank (not out till september), GT5 (probably not out till 2012) and Wipeout (not even officially anounced yet), so would have been bored within 2 minutes. Just being a bloke I've had to revert on my natural instinct of 'Must have shiny flashing light gadgety thing'

Oh, and I've just got a Wii as well to keep me amused! bounce

I'd have sold the wii. I'd sell mine if my wife didnt insist that we keep it.

Bad luck though mate. :/ I've got the cash for mine sitting at home, and I've banned myself from touching it! ha ha

It's looking to be an expensive month for me too, picking up the new car on Sunday, skydiving on the 23rd/24th on top of that, so may have to cancel mine.

And what is wrong with that?

I'm not a really techie person, but i think the ps3 is gonna be very similar to ps2, obviously better graphics and a few other bits and bobs. But i have to say, having sold my ps2 cos of boredom. There was just nothing on there that appealled to me. Subsequently, i've invested in a wii and i'm probably one of the few, but i love it and definately wont be changing it for a ps3 at 3 times the price. The wii is a completely different experience to just sitting there playing boring pro evo or something.

but is the wii much better than an eyetoy or a dancemat or some of the other get up and jump around PS games (seen something recently in dubai could be kickboxing?)

I think so. I had eye toy play and eye toy play 2. Both of which the novolty factor wore off really fast. I've been playing sports now almost every night now for the last 3 half weeks. I dunno what it is, i see what you mean, but it is just a totally different experience. Cant wait for Tiger woods... Even the most anti-wii person in the world would admit that this could be the greatest golf game in history

Yeah, I agree with the above post...
The Wii is way, way beyond an eyetoy!
It's great fun and a great machine.
I wouldn't touch the PS3 with a bargepole though...

I'm sure if Sony decided it was worthwhile, they could offer similar controller technology to the Wii. I think that the Wii is still a bit gimmicky no matter how good it is. Great for some types of games such as the sports ones, but not for the vast majority of other games.

have been toying with the idea of getting a PS3 for a few weeks now. i'm sure it will be a great console, the graphics will be fantastic and sound quality will be great and all that but TBH i'm happy with my PS2 for the time being (especially since i got GTA Vice City stories earlier today!) nearer christmas time i might consider trading up to a 3, but for now i'm content with what i've got

I wouldn't be too upset - the PS3 has great potential, but to be honest it'll be 2008 before it's being properly exploited. If you've got a 360 and Wii to keep you going you'll be fine.

True - sony take take their time in the transition between consoles, nintendo and ms tend to drop the old one pretty quickly.

Jimothy - look on the bright side, by the time you get one there will be more great games out and maybe even the cheaper version so u can spend more money on games

btw - Game are offering PS3s for £305 if you trade in your Nintendo Wii for one.
