Good grief, I feel ashamed. Letting the side down and that.

I just pretty well got matched for acceleration from 40-60pmh on the way into work by a FORD. Looked like some sort of RS version of a fiesta, newest model I think. Don't know my Fords plus with the roof down, I could only see the top of his windscreen laugh and what I could see in the side-mirrors.
Sadly I came upon slower traffic so had to back off.

Anyone know what this could have been? Impressive anyway.

Matt

yikes and you have a 450! Worrying, maybe he has 'tuned' it a bit?

Hmmm maybe, doesn't sound fast enough to keep up with a 450 Chimaera though. Perhaps this guy had added a turbo or something?

Maybe it was a bit special as said before theres a lot of boy racer cars that would leave any TVR for dead.

I had a cossy converted series 2 and it blows the doors off my TVR.

Sleepers are great but TVR's just plain sex on wheels....

I got annihilated by a Nissan 200SX last year, but he did have a drainpipe exhaust and judging from the way it was puffing and chuffing it wasn't terribly standard under the bonnet, either.

Must be RS200 X rally cross 700hp not just less powerful group B car , or GT40 big block 7lt. Can't be a chav wagon please, although he maybe committed if it is nicked.
Have to say though Clogg who would not be seen dead in a Ford or Nissan, shame quite fancy a GT40 or a Group4 Capri with a Ford Cossy GAA (best sounding engine ever) or , X works MK2 Escort.I think 350Z are o.k and like old 240Z and late 200SX's are a gift for there ability/ price.
Don't mind Fords really though I will not pay stupid money for badges like a lot of German motors. There was a time they where superb but not anymore. Now its just down to clever marketing and respect earned from a time gone by.

you would need a F1 car to pull away from pretty much anything from 40-60!!

if he accelerated for half a second more then he would catch up!

I went for a spirited drive in the 4.0 last year with a guy in a chipped Fiesta ST. He kept up although he had to thrash his car's guts out and drive like an idiot to do it.

When I got the 5.0 I was looking forward to pasting him but found out he'd been banned (see above 'driving like an idiot' comment).

Had a funny one last year - came onto a dual carriageway, followed by a BMW 540 ESTATE!

He went for it, so I thought I may as well have a go (keep up the side, an' all that!) and we were door to door for a couple of miles, all the way up to 130. Sorry - I mean 70, officer!

In my defence (plead??!) he did have a go first, and I was playing catch up, but it was great fun! (the wife wasn't too pleased, as she just watched the speedo all the time!)
