Technoparc lay by?

I’ve just been sent conformation for this years Le Mans and on the phone they told me we’d be in Technoparc but the confirmation says ‘Technoparc lay by’ – is it still the same thing?

Yeh this is just what they call campsites. I cant remember if it is a translation issue or something else.

Lay by is a French synonym for campsite without permanent facilities or marked pitches - usually a field with portable toilets / showers.

I stayed on Technoparc last year and will be there again on same site this year. Its an ok site, quieter and smaller than the main sites. It has a more easily controlled entrance which is a plus re security but gets less visitors from other sites because it is tucked away with no through route to anywhere.

Has a shower block which is quieter than the norm (though perhaps we should keep this news for ourselves).

The larger distance to the pits/main area needs considering (about 25 mins I reckon), but a plus is that it is easily walkable to the Porsche curves, which is an area which I hardly ever visited from houx annex.

We've stopped in Technoparc for the past couple of years, and will be there for the 3rd year in June.
Not bad, reasonable facilities, sinks and bogs that are VERY well looked after by some locals.

Bit of a walk to Dunlop mind, especially if it's baking hot !
