dont recognise it - seems cheap - and looks good. drive it - it may be a bag of spanners.
i have a v6 for sale but is a lot more expensive but is a lot newer and lower mileage.
i'd say its definatley worth a drive - wotrk out what good stuff it has fitted - big brakes, revised rear suspension,, cable change, anti roll bars etc etc all add up to quite a sum - as does a v6 ;-)

Best check is to see if its owned by a TGTM member. Or if we know it. If possible get a knowledgable GTM person to check it over. There is no real faults with them, but as with all bespoke cars they are all different, but at a glance they are the same. I have spent over 3k getting all the track toys on mine, as I did not really know what to look for when I bought it. It depends what you want it for, If you want purely a road car the the world is your oyster, as they are all competent on the road. Only if you push it on track will you notice a few things lacking on a basic car, ie ARB's. I am probobly the wrong person to ask as I always bias towards a bit more hardcore Libra, but if you just want a road toy then most will do. If you are going to the Detling show there should be several variants there, all with different approaches to the ideal Libra. Mine is yellow, with a PH sticker on the windscreen, if anyone is there come and say hi and I will give you a quick rundown on what to look out for.
I talked to the chap at the car lot on Friday evening and he said the car was in excellent condition and with a standard of finish comparible to a production car. Built by a chap who worked at the GTM factory and had £3000 knocked off the screen price as they were clearing the lot...
All sounded pretty good so I went to look at it on Saturday morning. I'm not sure what happened over night but the car hadn't been cleaned since it was used last. The engine bay was also pretty dirty, the engine seemed to be leaking/seeping oil (possibly from the sump) and there was also a loose hose hanging down at the front of the engine bay. I'm not sure if this is normal but my Rover 200 doesn't have any loose hoses...
The inside was also full of random rubbish. There was an Eminem CD case behind one of the seats, loose coins in the foot well and loose screws under one of the seats, not what you want to find in a kit car! The doors had also dropped slightly and hit the front clam (maybe they hadn't been fitted properly)...
It was a reasonable car, but I felt a bit dissapointed especially after the phone conversation, the performance figures quoted to me by the (different) salesman on the day were very impressive though..... 600kg and 0-60 in 4 seconds!
DAVE
PS: No ARB's and original suspension arms and dampers incase anyone's wondering.

If it was a small diameter hose just in front of the engine bay on the driver's side; it probably the fuel tank vent.

The door hinges can be difficult to set up, and many doors have dropped so thay drag a bit on the cill. If they hit the clam when they fully open, it's because the check strap isn't fitted. BUT...There is a later retro-fittable better door hinge, and I think the later cars have a way of using a rubber 'bumper' on the inner edge of the front door to prevent it opening wide enough to foul the front clam.

Hmm why do salesmen talk bollox? It's OK to lie, 'cause Im selling you something?
Weight will vary from car to car. I reckon my Libra is heavy at 830Kg, but I'll be very surprised if there's a Libra under 730Kg.
My VVC Libra weighs 780 kgs. 0-60 will be about 5.5 seconds with a 160 bhp VVC. NO WAY is that car 600kgs. The door just needs re-alignment,no biggie. Looks as though somone just wants shot of it for financial reasons, £7k would be a very good price. The car looks a good one. There is supposedly an issue with the origional suspension, but only a few times has the problem arisen to my knowledge, mostly/all on track (Paul maybe able to clarify) My car has done several trackdays and been fully airbourne in France a few few times and no problems with origional suspension. I do keep an eye on it though, but that is as with any kitcar you use hard. There is a few options regarding upgrading the suspensions to Rose Joints. ARB's cost about £600 supplid and fitted. It doesnt look a bad car, remember its a buyers market!

Nice try.
I thought you'd decided to keep it anyway?

i had planed on keeping it - but then went and bought a new toy - a HSR chevette rally car! if i had more space i'd keep it to be honest (the mrs thinks i should keep it as well - but i want to spend the money on the shuvitt as well - obviously she doesnt know that ;-)
