Xantia Activa wobble under load

basicly when you put anything more than minimal load on the car it shakes and wobbles a lot and is rather off putting, i at first thought it was a wheel bearing but it turns out it isnt, my only other thoughts are perhaps a gearbox or engine mount?, has anyone else had a similar experience?

Have a look at the lower engine mount disc these are prone to breaking up .You can buy just the disc from gsf and fit it easily .It could also be inner driveshaft joint .

Never experienced it, But I'd have to agree, engine mounts sound like the way to go!

well it is a huge power hike from that hairdryer powered TVR i used to own , theres definatly something not right with it though, as soon as i start to aclerate it wobbles and shakes and makes driving it tedious and uncomfortable and i dont wish to be doing many more 12 MPG trips to work in my other car
