HDV with Adobe Premier Elements help
Discussion
I've been trying in vain to capture video from my Sony HC3E HDV camcorder with Adobe Premier Elements with no success. If I change all the camera settings to DV, I can capture, edit, export fine, no problems, but when I change to HDV it appears I can capture, but it never creates any files.
For anyone that can help, here is some more info:
"iLink Conv" is set to Off and I've tried changing the "VCR HDV/DV" setting to both Auto and HDV with no luck.
I've set the Project defaults to:
Adobe HDV
HDV 1080i 25 (Sony 50i)
I've also tried the 60i & 720p option with no luck
Looking in the Project folder, each time I create a new project, I get 3 files:
test5.prel - 101 KB
test5.log - 1 KB
test5.mpeg - 1 KB
It seems the MPEG capture is only creating 1KB files, regardless of how long I capture for, hence why I can't play back I suppose. Each clip I capture produces a new 1KB file. As I mentioned, if I set to DV, I can do everything with no problem.
Lastly, I do always get a yellow exclaimation box in the bottom right that states:
- Stop Motion Capture is not supported with HDV Camera
- Desktop Display Moade has been reset because the video card returned an error. Please reset... etc.
I'm using an nVidia 6800 Ultra card which happily plays HD media files.
