Slowly trying to bring myself round to it myself....well, will start in earnest after I get the Griff back from service, paintwork, roof etc.

Unless I fall in love again with him, that is. And need to fully convince other half of potential "benefits"...!!!!

This is frustrating! Found 2 minor faults:

Wire broken at battery (therefore wasn't charging when I thought it was).
Fuse to solenoid broken.

These rectified, but the trickle charger doesn't give it much of a boost. Also, I think the 'key' immobilser had worked loose and therefore the position of the key looked different to where the barrel was (could someone email me with what position the barrel should be please?). So, it's on charge, but at least it turned over well this morning for a little while!

Got it sorted, after the minor fixes, a good batery charger worked well. Oh what cars these are

glad you got it sorted welcome to the fold, be safe cos these cars have a habit of biting back i know its always said on these threads but its true i took quite a while before i really opened her up (the car that is) and i have driven some quick cars but these beauties, there somthing else anyway enjoy.
