As a former Impreza driver and knowing that they tend to get bad press it annoys me to see a driver living up to the bad reputation.

I was on my way home on the A90, overtaking a line of cars, I was doing around 80, when this knob came up behind me at considerably higher speed than myself, he came very close to my bumper and sat there until I had an opportunity to move between two cars in the line I was passing. he then did the same to the next car, falling back and driving hard up behind it until it too moved over.

The irony was that the knob then turned off at Newtonhill about 1/2 mile after the stupidity.

if I hadn't been in a rush myself to catch the end of the Moto GP I would have turned off and had a word in his ear (probably would have been a mistake but it was how I felt) mad

If any of you know the knob please advise him not to be such a tt, it was a blue Impreza V835 ***

Yesterday morning, Steph and I witnessed someone doing something downright dangerous on the South Deeside road.

There's a series of bends close to the Aberdeen end with double white lines. He overtook two cars, completely blind.

Strange, given a second or so time shift, the vehicle he would have hit head-on was a police motorcycle (one of three). He was back on his own side by the time they passed.

I will see him again and I will stop / follow him to have a word. He's on my patch where my friends and family drive and I'm not having it.

I've been meaning to start a thread on the alarming number of deaths on Grampian roads in the last year (following the kid getting killed at Crathes a couple of weeks ago). I'll get my thoughts straight today and post up tonight.

Cheers,

Eric

I posted on SIDC as you suggested - seems I have touched a nerve.

CT,
I agree that Subaru drivers don't deserve the stereotype they usually get. Most I see are very well and considerately driven. Sounds like you got somebody who's more used to driving his Mercedes.

Kiltie,
I'd appreciate you having a word also, as my family are the N&S Deeside roads often. It's unusual to see somebody behaving like that - the usual problem is the Deeside Drivers' Club in their Nissan Micras with the rear-view mirrors removed so they can't see the queue behind them. Mind you, you must get some sort of prize for spotting a polis. Rare breed around here when you want them. I saw two walking up the main street in Culter last month and was so surprised I nearly hit a lamp-post.

Ah, think about it though ... three bikes headed West ... ? ... perhaps headed Balmoral way ... ? ... for an escort to Dyce?

I tried to get the link for you but the whole site seems to be down now - oops.
Site back up again but link seems to have been nuked

It was a good read, though.
The Impreza driver could have gone one way or the other:
(1) Yes that was me. Sorry. I was being rather aggressive and regretted it afterwards; or
(2) Come over here and say that to my face if you want a fight.

Guess which one it was...........????

Interesting. I've always wondered how a-holes like that could possibly justify driving in such a manner. If he volunteers to meet you to explain sometime, I'd like to be there.

To be honest i was as disappointed with his response as i had been with his driving - but thats life !

The thread has been deleted, I sent an email to the moderator who intially locked the thread, I explained why I posted it in the first place an expressed my disappointment for how the thread had gone, I got a satisfactory reply.

It has been a while since I attended a SIDC meeting, I may attend one when I am home next time to gauge general response of those who read the post.

Don't do it - you've nothing to gain.
Leave it behind and claim the moral high ground - which you've already done, to a certain extent by having the Scooby thread removed. I'm sure the errant driver will realise this. And the error of his ways. Maybe he's normally a very considerate driver but just had a momentary lapse..........(or two)?
