Karting (Not the campsite)
Discussion
Yeah the karts still operate and there are two tracks next to each other (the older looking one is the best, the newer one requires no skill or brakes).
I can't remember the prices exactely but it was something like 15/20/25 Euros for 10 minutes, which lasted more like 15 - 20 minutes. The prices are different for the friday, saturday and sunday IIRC, but we turned up with a load of other people so they walked up to the board with the price on it, and increased the price with us watching them, typical French
.
It's good though, you have no briefing, no overalls, no visors, and can do what ever the hell you want
.
The karts are your typical arrive and drive type karts.

Sorry the English link doesn't work but you should find what you want. I'm pretty certain it's available during race week.

At about 19:00 on the Saturday night the kart track was taken over by the Audi corporate hoards.
Loads of Q7's were being used to bus people from their cosy hospitality up to the karting track.
On the track were about 4 shiny red RS4's with factory drivers loading up with 3 passengers at a time and doing 2 full bore laps of the kart track....quite a sight, and sound !!

We went karting in 2005 & 2006. Pretty good
bloody long walk from Maison Blanche though..
Very true, I'd forgotten about the walk. What a walk...
Not bad atually, and reasonably good value at €20 a pop (15 mins I think). Karts aren't that bad (for arrive and drive, they're no 2 strokers) and its actually a reasonable circuit.
Be careful if you've lived off of burgers and haven't been for 4 days. It brought a new dimensi0on to the concept of "touching cloth"....
