Having had some success in bargaining with Virgin Media the time is nigh for a TV in the bedroom. I'm thinking maybe if we spend a bit more time in there there I might get my twice yearly batting average up!

Anyway, we think about 27" is about the optimum size. We've seen and LG one being punted at about £390; it sounded crap but looked OK. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for screens of that sort of size.

She wants the Samsung piano black one because it "looks pretty", but I only know two people who have one of those and both have had issues and replacement TV's.

Budget is about £500.

Pansonic LX60 or Sony 26S2030 would be the current best choices for your budget.
I you want the best (IMO) LCD TV, then you would look for Loewe Concept L26.
Forget nice looking surrounds - you watch the picture, not the frame!

The Loewe is way over budget - my sister has one and loves (!) it.

Panny looks interesting. Cheers.

Check the new LX70 prices first before jumping at a 60 - there might be little in it and the 70 might have something more than the 60 does.
That said, if you find the 60 is quite a bit cheaper, grab it as you'll be suitably impressed with it not to worry about what the 70 has over it.
