Improving those slow windows

Usual Cerb slow windows. In my case slow on the way down too.

Spent a little time today trying to speed up my windows. First I checked the voltage, which was healthy at 15v. The runners look worn, so I shall be replacing these. I may add some silicone spray too. I also noted that simply using the window repeatedly, seemed to free things up and as a result the speed is now improved.

However, I noticed that bang in the middle of the inner door skin there's a hole which is covered by a patch of rubber type material (about 100mm square), and the window touches this rubber patch through its movement. It looks standard to me, though surely the resulting friction slows the window down. Is this normal,and does it serve any purpose?

I am sure that I have seen a thread that talks about wiring direct from the battery via a relay to improve things.
If you have closed the door of a tuscan, 350 etc you will go WOW. Shut and window up in less than 2 seconds. I am sure there will be lots of response to your question.

I'd love to know how to make this better as its one of very few things I dislike about the Cerb.

I like the slow windows. While sitting in traffic and pushing your finger on the button, it gives you time to gaze out of your window to the good looking woman in the people carrier next door, and do your best medallion man cheezy grin in slow mo.

Just checked mine, worse case down in 3 secs up in four, could be faster
