having put the bonnet back on I though it a good timre to tackle the stone chips and the indicator lense.with the indicators out of the way the rubber bumper strip peels forward so I thought I'd trim the edge.noticing a great deal of rust in the rubber i pulled it to see what it was from,it turns out the rubber has a metal lining inside which appears to have returned to its natural state.I now have a non reinforced rubber strip and I cant decide wether to "No Nail" it back on or take the opportunity toget rid of it altogether and either fill the recess and paint it over or perhaps put something else in the recess such as a stainless strip.Has anybody done anything similar,if so any pics????
If not, is anyone adept enough with images to alter the second picture below to show how it would look if I filled it in and painted it??? I have tried cloning bits on Paintshop[ Pro but I ended up with sixty flashes of light where the bumper should have been.
ps the dolly's are bread tray trolleys cut down with angle iron across to support the wheels,cost £5 pair (see your local bread delivery driver)

If you go to,BaQ theryhave a small selection of metal,they have a piece of galvinised which is the exact width.It also has lots of hole down the middle so unless you are unlucky all you do it cut to length.There will be enough material to do both sides

Not to far away from you in warrington. Any strips of metal galv or stainless or any type for that matter, give me sizes, and ill sort you out no charge.Thats one of the benefits of working in the sheet metal ind. Another good tip, take the ally cover off the petrol tank cradle, ive got a few made up out of st steel. really looks the part. ps how do i post pics on the forum,i could post a few to show everybody.

To post pictures, I went on to photobucket,its self explanatory to put your pics on there, then once you have them on there,look at the formatting codes and you have to put [pic]before then[/pic] after the url given to your picture.It sounds a bit complicated but it cant be as I managed it.Let me know if you struggle Ill send you a tel no and talk you through it.
