Yes she made it 1650 miles there and back. Only problems glove box stuck shut, off side tie bar has begun to wear but the electric aeriel now works again!!

just normal road tyres! you can buy snow chains at the bottom of the hill from supermarkets etc if there is snow on the top. I reckon i could put the a package togeather around 350ish quid per person (based on 2 people per car) which would include half board accomdation, ferry crossing and sticker/t-shirts etc. Just deciding if i want the hasstle of it all... or just keep it to me and my mates!

Just spotted this in the track days forum- and recognised Bozel in the background and then the rest of C1550.

I'm writing this from 1550 right now- rather sunny here and I'd be tempted to bring out my Chimaera next year.

Did you have any trouble driving up through the village? Were you advised to come in via the top of the village, as the lower road is a bit steeper and narrower?

I was actually out here that week- shame I didn't spot the TVR!

If you have to celebrate a car making it a mere 1600 miles,
I have to question why I bought a wedge at all. Are they really
that unreliable?

In May, I was planning on entering my 390 in a Vancouver car show...about
600 miles away, all of which is mountains, with highway elevations exceeding
6000 ft.

Is that too risky?

Nah!

You will be fine as long as you go slow enough that the mechanic in the SUV behind you can keep up.

THey aren't unreliable!

I've done about 150k miles in wedges, had to be towed twice in all that time, and one of those times was because I ignored the alternator warning light while driving at night.

Go for it, 600 miles will be eaten up in no time.
