Odd ball electrics

Just home from a cracking blast in the Tiv, but as it got dark, I noticed that the ignition light starts to glow every time the brakes are applied, first thoughts where that maybe the fan belt was slipping, so switched everything electrical on to see if the light glowed but it didnt, only happens when the brakes are on. Any ideas?

That sounds like an earthing fault. Get the wet'n'dry and the vaseline out. And whilst yer there, do something about the earth points! 8-)

Bloody hell that was quick! Thanks Ed, will have a bash at it tomorrow, suppose the best place to start is with the rear light clusters.

A voltage check (with the ignition on) from the battery negative post to the negative terminal of the offending leccy items may well show a non-zero voltage drop through the earth path, i.e. you will probably find that one or more earth points is dropping voltage across itself cos the connections gone rusty and resistive.

Got a multimeter?
