What's your daily driver?

I'm just curious here, what's your daily driver?
I'm assuming most wedge owners don't drive them through
stop and go rush hour traffic and wear out something else instead?

Unless you like to take 100 mile detours at 100 miles+ an hour to go get
a quart of milk in a wedge, what's your "run about" vehicle?

My daily driver is an 88 rx7. I don't drive it in the winter so I have
what us canucks call as "winter beater".... a 1982 rx7.

What do you drive when not in a wedge?

My daily driver is a Mundeo Estate 2.0 dti 6 speed job, 55 plate and the lease company not too pleased that it is approaching 40k om the 14 months I had from new

I think they is prising me out of it next week So I'll have to break another one in

Oh and there is always the WSV as a back up, my 94 LDF Ambulance I kitted out as a camper wagon

or as a last resort the old 95 GSX600, 92 Astra, or Michelle's 94 Suzuki Fat boy Vitara

Sprinter's, Iveco's, Transit's, small awful Vauxhall thingy that used to stink of dead things (been replaced) hire cars of various types and a festa.

Wedge to do the getting to work stuff but at around 170 miles a pop on the M way its, well, trying. Today, first time in five weeks to drive it and try across country. Bicycle race, and the usual sunday numpty take away the fun.

I was about to laugh at the Ford transit van, but after seeing some
kick-assed racing girl take a Ford transit around Nurburgring in only
a few seconds more that it took Top Gear's Clarkson to lap the track in a
Jag, I will withhold my laughter..... or laugh at Jeremy Clarkson instead!

I like the bikes. I wish I still had my Kawi KH400. Not that fast, but
acceleration was incredible.

Laugh all you want at the Transit: I've had an indicated 118 out of it (1753 TDCi). It's rated to carry 900 Kg (had 1.2 tonnes on board by accident , also carried 770 Kg at an indicated ton).
It handles better than you might imagine too; if I had to get across country in a hurry (especially in bad weather) I'd prefer it to the TVR.
It cruises all day at 90+ (in fact a race-prepped Focus driver's eyes were out on stalks as I passed him on the M** at 105 yesterday ) and is comfortable enough to do 300 miles at a sitting - the tank runs out before I do.

Funny thing, I had a VW van follow me over the "Black Mountain pass" to Brynaman the other day. Didn't do anything daft but he was behind me at Brynaman

118 in a van? I have to admit that's mighty impressive given it's as aerodynamic as a brick.
Considering my 88 rx-7 only did 130 flat out stock, size/weight versus speed it puts my "sports car"

VW Transporter T32, 5 cylinders 2.5L 6 speed box, eats Transits for breakfast even when loaded with 1/2 a ton of plumbing gear.
Guttless till 2000rpm then the turbo kicks in and off it goes!
Only major problem is that you have to stop every 20 miles to clear BMW's out of the front grill!

landrover Discovery commercial TD5 with all the toys. Still has the 'get up and go' of a cross channel ferry and the handling of a bouncey castle. But it will tow 3.5 tonnes

350i was daily drive for ten years. Then the SEAC everyday for about 3 years. This winter I got fed up of scraping the ice from inside at 6 in the morning! Have now inherited the Wifes old MR2 for the winter.

Mines a fully loaded new shape Astra SRI Diesel, 150 BHP model with tons of torque. Great car, goes like a rocket and drives fantasticly! Really cannot fault the car at all (although ALL of the vauxhall dealers are W*NK$RS!)
