Two months on...

To the naysayers: I have owned my fifteen year old Griffith for two months now and can say that it is by far the best purchase of my life.
I have had two minor niggles, though nothing to stop me driving or enjoying it; something one should expect in a car that's done nearly 100,000 miles over fifteen years. A knocking noise that was sorted by tightening a bolt and a slightly lumpy tickover that required the twist of a screwdriver.
The above easily out-weighed by the huge grin factor!
It's not just the driving either; this weekend I washed and polished it for the first time and Glory Be! - it wasn't the chore I'd expected - I enjoyed it! I think there are two main reasons for this; it's tiny and the curves make it a joy to caress! I think what helped was the fine weather and a three hour blast to show off my (almost) pristine p&j.
So if you're considering buying into the greatest British marque, do not be put off by the doom mongers - I nearly was.

3 1/2 years down the line and I still feel the same way
and thats despite an expensive niggle too. (Over that time, it has still cost me no more to run than the Audi Quattro's I had previously especially if include the ave. £3k pa depreciation they had).

Had mine for five years, couldn't agree with you more, thet are just great fun.
Same here. Had mine almost a year and have had to replace both fuel pump relays. My God how unreliable is that.
Think I must have a leak in my fuel tank though cos the fuel level keeps going down.
So to all those doom and gloom merchants. You don't know how much fun you are missing by not buying a Tiv.

Agreed - If you start with the front, by the time you get past the front wheels, the jobs more than half done!
And unlike the everyday car, there is a chance it might stay clean for more than a day or two.

Nearly five months on for me, in my very short ownership of the Griff I have done the following, (Or should I say had to do.)
1. New clutch including slave cylinder.
2. Whole new ignition system.
3. New discs all round.
4. New (5L) calipers on front.
5. Staniless steel brakelines.
6. Reconditioned rear calipers.
7. New induction hoses with K&N air filter.
Jobs pending:
1. New gaz shocks and polybushes.
2. New wishbones all round.
3. Next winter, respray.
The long suffering and I are thoroughly enjoying Griff ownership and long may it continue. I thought the car was brilliant when I bought it, but since I have done a few jobs on her, boy does it go well now.
Hopefully there will come a time when we don't have to spend anymore large amounts on the beast.

about 3 months for me too. exept that i work in Lithuania and the Grif is in Belgium so just able to drive when I go back in Belgium, so just about 1000 miles so far.
I love it, wanted one for a vey very long time, and plan to keep it for ever.

Yep coming up on nearly 2 years now and i have had the following done
1. New everything
Fantastic motor though - wouldnt be without it. Yesterday I washed her, dried her, cleansed all the winter wax off with P21 cleanser and then put 2..yes 2...coats of P21S carnauba wax on. Man shes so shiny your hand slips off when you try to open the door!!
Oh fitted this as well....

Do you call that clean Mr Jeffs? That is filthy by your usual standards! There's a distinct white-ish layer to be seen here! Pah!
or maybe it's the reflection of the wet tarmac...
