My boss is having problems with his 530D not wanting to start. He paid a small fortune to have it taken to Sytner in Nottingham and have the fault diagnosed and rectified, but it's now doing it again.

Anyone got any recommendations for a Beemer specialist somewhere either in or near Nottingham or Matlock?

Paddy27 uses one in Lincoln that is very good, can't remember the name of the place though.

Yep, its Forrest Motors in Lincoln. Very good place, have done well by me over the past couple of years.

Thanks, but Lincoln's a bit too much of a trek. Really need to find somewhere either in or near Nottingham, or his home near Matlock. It's got to be a good 60 miles from Matlock to Lincoln.

If it's spinning but not starting my bet will be the main immobiliser lead to the computer. The car thinks it is still in imobilised mode. What's worse is that it can be intermittent, so you get it to the dealer and they can't find any faults logged as the car doesn't realise it actually has a fault, just thinks someone's been trying to nick it!

Cheers Al! Sytner reckon it's failed injectors. At £250 a pop they'd better be right!

They shouldn't "reckon" Pete! The diagnostic programme should tell them whether they are faulty or not. If they are wrong will they waive the charge?

They replaced one a couple of weeks ago. Now they're saying another has failed. When my boss asked why their wonderful diagnostic system didn't pick up that another one was on it's way out they prevaricated and couldn't give a satisfactory answer. This will be the last time they get to work on the car - hence the request for any decent indies in the area.

You could give Benz-Bavarian a call over at Duffield, they are an independant sales specialist, I bet they know a few independant fettlers.
