I'd like to, but it might be an expensive month if I do Pistonfest (still hoping to go)/Testing/Le Mans on the trot... And my boss wouldn't be too happy as I work weekends mostly... hehe

Pretty dead and allegedly no ACO campsites open this year.

It depends what sort of atmosphere you are looking for. I've been to the testing/PQ weekend about 3 or 4 times now, and it is worth making the effort for if you are interested in the racing side of Le Mans. It's easy enough to find a hotel room or getting a table at a restaurant and you can see another side of the city without the hundreds of thousands of people. The spectactors are still numerous but are mainly locals and families.

Sounds like it could be a laugh may just be one of those last minute decisions!

I must admit the N138 could be fun as there will be less traffic and i'm assuming less of a police presence?

Morning Rob.
We pick the boys up from school at lunch time friday 1st. I brought a block booking with speedferries this year. Ten crossings for £250.00, Dover/Bol. Get to Le-mans for approx 18.00 ish. We stay at the followinfg place for fri night.
www.vedaquais-72.com/
Sat night we camp in the car park behind Arnage/ Indy. The officials last year joined us for a bbq and a few beers.
If you just camp cost of weekend as follows.
£50.00 return crossing
£20.00 food
£40.00 Fuel (diesel)
and any other purchased you make.
This is a good weekend away and pit lane is totally open, last year the boys sat in the Astons,Audi's,Vettas and many other cars. The atmoshphere is great and most things i.e A.C.O club and Village are open.
Hope this is ok for you.
We did not have any problems pitching the tent here, the officials were more than happy for us to do it. There was 3/4 other men with their sons doing the same.
left track at 16.00 hrs back to port in 3hrs 50 mins on toll roads for speed.
We then go back to Le-mans on the 10/11 for 2 weeks. Roll on June.

There are 4 of us going in 3 cars (200SX, Elise 135sport, Elise S2). Leaving Fri on the overnight LD Lines crossing, returning LD Lines Mon.

We have been in contact with the ACO and they have said that there are no campsites open that weekend!

We are looking at staying in Spay or there is somewhere near Mulsanne village.

So are the new rules for pitlane going to apply for test weekend too?

Fancy going to this and that would clinch it for me if able to pit walk!

The pits walk on test weekend is so good. My son was able to sit in cars and wander through garages.
